Hello everyone, the next meeting of Liverpool Linux User Group will take place on Wednesday March 7th at 18:00 (6pm GMT)
This time we’re doing a cross-over, team up, duet, buddy cop style thing (term to be decided) with the good folks from the IoT Liverpool group. We’re going to be talking about big data, how big you ask? THIS BIG! I’m doing that thing fisherman do with their hands to exaggerate the size of their catch. The IoT crew have arranged a guest talk from KX Systems, the makers of the KDB+ database. A time based, big data storage solution. I won’t give to many details here as they’ve got some excellent information on their MeetUp post.
You’ll notice the time is an hour earlier than normal for us and this is because they start their talks right on 7pm, there’s also time to socialise and eat pizza (yes pizza) beforehand. It would be appreciated if you could RSVP vis MeetUp, it’s not absolutely necessary but does help them plan provisions like food.
Find us at DoES Liverpool in the Gostin’s Building on Hanover St, Liverpool City Centre. There is a working lift and the building has good accessibility for all. We’ll be in the first room on the left as you exit the lifts on the 4th floor.
Full location details and directions can be found here – https://doesliverpool.com/location/
We are friendly bunch and all are welcome regardless of technical knowledge or experience.
Hope to see you there,
Dan Lynch
