October Meeting – Weds 4th at 19:00

Hello one and all, the next meeting of Liverpool Linux User Group will take place on Wednesday October 4th at 7pm BST (UTC+1).

This month we have something slightly different. We’re getting away from the cloudy cloud cloud stuff and into embedded Linux. You might not know it but Linux is all around us in our everyday devices. Running a Linux kernel (and the other tools necessary) with very limited memory and CPU is a challenge, luckily we have an expert on hand to tell us more about it. DoES Liverpool resident and embedded Linux consultant Alex Lennon will be delivering a talk/demo entitled “Embedded Linux – a background and how to build with the Yocto Project / OpenEmbedded“. This might be of particular interest to any budding IoT (Internet Of Things) hackers amongst the group.

We meet at DOES Liverpool in the city centre (details below) from around 7pm (talks start at 7:30pm) and usually head to a nearby pub to chat more and catch up later.

Find us at DoES Liverpool in the Gostin’s Building on Hanover St, Liverpool City Centre. There is a working lift and the building has good accessibility for all. We’ll be in the first room on the left as you exit the lifts on the 4th floor.

Full location details and directions can be found here – https://doesliverpool.com/location/

We are friendly bunch and all are welcome regardless of technical knowledge or experience.

Hope to see you there,

Dan Lynch
