LSC Replacement Computers

The plan to get LSC up and running with a few PCs and a replacement office PC

Needed Kit

  • Newish PC, replacement office PC
  • 20-50m of CAT5 cable
  • 100mbit switch

  • Andy Williams - Athlon XP tower machine, 10mbit managed 3COM switch
  • Tim Dobson - Several Pentium 2 SFF machines
  • Vladimir - 17” CRT Monitor
  • Aidan McGuire - Several tower and 4U servers
  • Michael Banks - P3 Desktop, 2 x 17” CRT, CD/DVD-RW drives, 2x ATX cases, mice, laser printer
  • Richard Smedley - some P2 SFF machines

On Site (and Working) Kit

  • 4 full machines, various specs, working with Ubuntu 9.04 installed
  • 2 spare machines, one SFF, one midi tower
  • Netgear 100mbit switch
  • ADSL WIFI router (BT Openworld)

  • CAT5 Crimpler + connectors - Andy
  • Big box of various screws - Andy
